Lawrence G. Metzger
Lawrence G. Metzger has earned a reputation for representing clients in high profile personal injury cases He is known for his preparation and attention to detail and for the significant verdicts and settlements he has received. Mr. Metzger practices in the following practice areas: motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, workplace accidents, class actions and medical product litigation.
Mr. Metzger was admitted to the United States District Court and the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania in 1967 and has tried cases in various federal courts, not only in Pennsylvania, but in Connecticut and New Jersey as well. He is a 1964 graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and subsequently received his Juris Doctorate degree from Temple University in 1967. He has attended the Temple University Anatomy for Lawyers class and received a certificate from Temple Medical school in 1982. He has participated in Philadelphia Bar Association activities, being a member of the Civil Judicial Committee since 1975, and he acted as chairman and vice-chairman of the Medical Legal Committee in 1986 and 1987. In 1987 and 1988 he was a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Legislative Liaison Committee. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers from 1986 through 1993 and is presently an active member of both the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and American Association for Justice. He maintains membership in Tau Epsilon legal fraternity and is a life member of Alpha Kappa Psi fraternity. In connection with the court systems, he presently serves as judge pro tempore and prior to that, as a mediator for the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia County. Mr. Metzger has served as a mediator in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and is presently active as an arbitrator in contested accident liability cases.
